Tee it Up with a Celebrity at HE Parks Foundation Event

On Wednesday, June 5, golfers have the opportunity to tee off with a former celebrity athlete at the Scott R. Triphahn Celebri-Tee Golf Outing and help raise funds for a great cause.

Golfers will team up with a former professional athlete during their round at Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club, 1400 Poplar Creek Drive in Hoffman Estates. Celebrities such as Eric Soderholm from the Chicago White Sox; Randy Hundley, Bill Campbell, & Tim Stoddard from the Chicago Cubs; and Bill Wennington from the Chicago Bulls will join in supporting The Friends of HE Parks Foundation in this annual event.

Founded in 1998, the Friends of HE Parks Foundation works to generate and distribute resources to families for their participation in the Hoffman Estates Park District programs and activities. The ultimate mission is to enhance the physical, recreational, educational and cultural life for the Hoffman Estates community, regardless of social, physical or economic circumstances & limitations. This 501(c) (3) organization has awarded more than $150,000 in scholarships to more than 450 community families since the start of the scholarship program in 2004. Scholarship recipients are local residents who would otherwise be financially unable to participate in available programming.

Named after a former HE Parks Commissioner instrumental in establishing the foundation, the Scott R. Triphahn Celebri-Tee outing allows participants the chance to spend their day as part of a fun, networking scramble. In 2019, golfers will have an opportunity to putt for $5,000 in cash and have several chances to win a PGA Majors Trip with hole-in-one challenges offered on four different holes. The event also features a raffle and silent auction.

Tickets are $150 per golfer and include green/cart fees, lunch & drink ticket on the course, hole-in-one and putting contests, a tee gift, cocktail and buffet dinner following the round. Tickets can be purchased online at heparks.org/srt or by visiting one of the district's facilities. Sponsorships are also available.
