St. Theresa School Host's Senior Citizen Luncheon

St. Theresa School recently hosted their annual Senior Citizen Luncheon. This popular event was well attended by senior citizens from the community including Tamarack Retirement, St. Joseph's Home, Plum Grove Residence, St. Theresa Parishioners and grandparents of St. Theresa School students.

Over 200 seniors were happily greeted by St. Theresa's 6th grade students. The rainy weather didn't keep the guests guests away! The theme was Spring - and the room was decorated with bright spring colors, flowers and place mats made by students.

The STS Parents Association assisted students with hosting the event. Palatine Mayor, Jim Schwantz lead the Bingo game, which was a big hit with the seniors. The families of St. Theresa School donated prizes for the games.

"We are blessed to live in an amazing community and grateful to the local Palatine businesses that donated food to help host this event, especially Simply Delicious Catering."- Mary Keenley, Principal.

The 5th graders practiced for weeks to provide the entertainment. "Our students are loving and compassionate towards the elderly, they look forward to welcoming them back each year!" - Katy Ballard, 6th grade teacher.
