Aurora University Woodstock Center offer evening economic development course

Aurora University Woodstock Center recently announced that Jim McConoughey, president of the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation, will teach the "Principles of Community and Economic Development" course for the Master of Public Administration program at the downtown Woodstock location.

The seven-week class will be held on Thursday evenings beginning July 11.

In addition to the MPA and Master of Business Administration students who will take this course in pursuit of their graduate degree at AU Woodstock, the class is also available as a stand-alone opportunity for professionals interested in this topic.

McConoughey's extensive economic development background includes hands-on experience with countywide organizations, and throughout his career he has helped dozens of communities be more effective at economic development. His specific skills include strategic planning, deal execution, fundraising, project planning and implementation, and workforce development.

The MPA evening program at Woodstock Center is designed for working adults seeking to advance their career in the public sector or nonprofit management. It develops the skills and techniques used by senior-level positions to implement policies, projects and programs that resolve important issues within their organization and in society.
