Raise a glass for charity at annual Solstice Hop & Vine Fest

Solstice Hop & Vine Fest, presented by Schaumburg Bank & Trust Company, a Wintrust Community Bank, is set for 6 to 9 p.m., June 15 at Meineke Park, 220 E. Weathersfield Way.

Proceeds benefit recreation scholarships and other projects of the Schaumburg Park Foundation. Recent Foundation projects have included supporting Bison's Bluff Nature Playground, the Meineke Park Challenge Course and coming soon, the addition of a pollinator garden at Spring Valley Nature Center.

Fest admission is $30 per person and includes 10 tasting tickets and a commemorative wine or beer glass. Additional tasting tickets may be purchased at the event. Package sales are available on-site, giving attendees a chance to take home their favorite selections.

"What better way to celebrate summer than by having a festival that gives back to the community," Justin Sienkiewicz, executive vice president of the Schaumburg Park Foundation said. "We have a great selection of wine, beer and food-there's something for everyone."

The fest features music and great food, wine and beer from a variety of restaurants, wineries and breweries.

This year's vendors include Aspen Lane Wine Company, California Pizza Kitchen, Chandler's, Church Street Brewing Company, Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurants, Dry City Brew Works, HofbrÀuhaus Chicago, Itasca Brewing Company, Leaky Keg Brewing, Maggianos, Miller's Ale House, Moretti's, Pinstripes, Pollyanna Brewing Company, PRP Wine International and The Wine Cellar Outlet.

The event sells out every year, so early purchase is recommended. Tickets are available at schaumburgparkfoundation.org. The fest is held rain or shine-conservative footwear is recommended.

Guests must be 21 and older to attend. A valid ID is required and will be checked at the entrance. Parking will be available at James B. Conant High School, 700 E. Cougar Trail, Hoffman Estates, with complimentary shuttle service to the fest grounds.
