The First United Methodist Church of Des Plaines is hosting a concert by the Northwest Symphony Orchestra's Classic Woodwind Quintet, June 2, 2019, 3 p.m. The concert will be held in the church's sanctuary, 668 Graceland Avenue (at Graceland and Prairie) Des Plaines.

It promises to be an afternoon of superb classical music performed by musicians Bradley Uffelmann (clarinet), Richard von Holst (oboe), Barbara Saks (flute), Martha Cavender (bassoon) and Charles Serantinger (French horn). The program will feature music by historically and internationally-acclaimed composers from diverse aesthetic periods, from the baroque with Gounod (Petite Suite) to the 20th century with Percy Grainer and Eric Ewazen.

The concert will have free admission, and a free will offering is suggested to benefit both organizations.
