Round Lake Beach RE/MAX Office Receives Gift from Brazilian Artist, Unveils Landmark Mural Depicting American Dream

Luigui Corral and Ivonne Payes, co-owners of RE/MAX American Dream, today unveiled a colorful mural depicting the process of immigrants fulfilling their American Dream of owning their own home. The mural, titled "American Dream," was created by Brazilian artist, Cris Rodrigues, a well-respected artist in the Urban Art scene.

The idea for the mural came from an art event in Miami. Corral, a collector of street art, already owned several pieces by Rodrigues. The two met during the event and Rodrigues mentioned his desire to create a mural in Chicago depicting the American Dream. Corral offered his office as the perfect canvas for the project - the office is located in a largely Hispanic community and is home to many immigrants. Rodrigues spent two weeks in Chicago creating the mural on the side of RE/MAX American Dream's office building. Now complete, the mural is considered a landmark and will be included in the Chicago Art Guide.

"We are extremely honored to receive this special gift from Cris Rodrigues," said Luigui Corral, co-owner of RE/MAX American Dream. "This mural is a gift to our community and also a way for us to express gratitude and thanks to those we serve on a daily basis."

Rodrigues is known for his complex murals that illustrate both subtlety and intensity as he portrays the world around him. His work has been featured around Brazil, Japan, Europe, Miami, and now Chicago. He has nearly 30,000 Instagram followers and continues to grow in popularity.

Members of the community are welcome to visit and photograph the new mural located at RE/MAX American Dream, 1616 N Cedar Lake Rd, Round Lake Beach, IL. For more information, please contact Luigui Corral of RE/MAX American Dream at 847.236.0000.
