Women In Business Advisory Forum Presents Fashion Show Fundraiser

The Women in Business Advisory Forum (WIBAF), a networking group of the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce, presents their fourth annual Fashion Show on Tuesday, May 14 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the Palatine Township Senior Center located at 505 S. Quentin Road, Palatine. Proceeds from the event will benefit the WIBAF Scholarship Fund which supports high school women who are planning to pursue a degree in a business related field.

Tickets are $30 each or a table of eight can be purchased for $225. Tickets can be purchased online at palatinechamber.com through May 7, 2019. Tickets will not be available at the door. The luncheon will include a hot buffet served by Pizza Bella Italian catering. Coffee, tea, and lemonade will be served and each attendee will receive one free door prize ticket and a swag bag full of giveaways and special offers. Over 20 raffle prizes, including themed baskets and gift cards, have been donated by Chamber members and area businesses. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase during the event, and the doors will open early at 11:30am for raffle ticket sales and viewing.

Spring fashions provided by Shayne Bullen of Cabi will be modeled by members of the community and the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce including Claire Kim, Lisa Regal, Patricia Sanders, and Megan Zenner. Jan Tisza of Mary Kay Cosmetics will be providing make-up services, and stylists from SportClips-Palatine will be styling hair for the models. Andigo Credit Union is a sponsor of the event this year, centerpieces have been provided by Jewel-Osco-Plum Grove Road, and Signs by Tomorrow provided graphic design and signage services. Palatine Township Senior Center is donating space for the event and Palatine Park District is providing this year's swag bag.

The 2019 Fashion Show Committee is chaired by Julie Selof of Andigo Credit Union and Nidya Marin of New York Life. Committee members include Gale DeMarco of SportClips-Palatine, Alissa DePue and Joan Scovic of Palatine Park District, Dawn Goerger and Linda Hall of Connect to Community, Kate Johnson from the Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council, Jan Tisza of Mary Kay Cosmetics, Maggie Morris of Palatine Chamber of Commerce, Jor-dan Helmick and Julia Tarnorutskaya with J2 Massage, and Sherri Dzik with Sherri Dzik Homes.

Applications for the Women in Business Advisory Forum Scholarship are due April 25, 2019 at 5:00pm. The scholarship application form and complete details can be found online at palatinechamber.com.

WIBAF is an active group of business women who are interested in learning and networking with one another while discussing business related topics. Meetings are held once a month, on the second Tuesday of each month from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Meetings include featured member presentations and organized presentations of business topics, along with time for networking with other members in attendance. In addition, members also have an opportunity to periodically profile their business in a 5-10 minute presentation. The fee for WIBAF luncheon networking meetings is $15 per person. Pre-registration is required and can be completed online each month at palatinechamber.com. Registration is requested no later than the Friday morning prior to the meeting. Registration after noon on Friday and up to Monday at noon will be $17 per person.
