M/I Homes Breaks Ground at Wentworth in Kildeer

M/I Homes, one of the most active builders in the Chicago area, announces it has broken ground at Wentworth, a new community of 54 low-maintenance single-family homes in Kildeer, Ill. The 27-acre community of all ranch-style homes is located north of Route 22 on Old McHenry Road, adjacent to the Kemper Lakes Golf Club and close to Heron Creek Forest Preserve as well as nearby shopping and dining destinations.

"Wentworth answers the enormous demand for new-home options in Kildeer, which is sought after for the village's natural surroundings as well as its plentiful retail, restaurant and recreational offerings," said Curt VanHyfte, area president of M/I Homes. "With its location bordering Kemper Lakes Golf Club, Wentworth also offers homeowners a beautiful setting with the opportunity for incredible golf course views, not to mention the ease of single-level living and the convenience of a low-maintenance lifestyle where lawn care and snow removal are included in monthly HOA fees. Whether prospective buyers are long-time local residents looking for a ranch home in Kildeer or newcomers looking for new-construction options in this burgeoning area, they'll find plenty of choices to match their lifestyle at Wentworth."

Prospective buyers are invited to learn more about the community during a Grand Release event on Saturday, May 4. The event, which will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at Kemper Lakes Golf Club and include a complimentary breakfast, is open to the public with advance RSVP requested. It will be an opportunity for interested buyers to secure a required VIP pre-Grand Opening appointment, which start March 10, where they can meet with an M/I Homes New Home Consultant to lock in their choice of floor plan and home site.

M/I Homes is unveiling five brand-new ranch home designs at Wentworth that will complement the community's tranquil setting. Floor plans range from 1,776 to 3,097 square feet and feature two to three bedrooms, two to three baths, an attached two-car garage and full basement. All homes in the community offer modern layouts with open kitchen and living area configurations, mudrooms, flex space that can be used as a den or bedroom, and a rear patio with the option for a screened porch. Additionally, every plan offers the option to add an upper-level bonus room, bedroom and bath. Base prices range from $427,990 to $480,990.

"For buyers looking for a brand-new home and single-level living in Kildeer, Wentworth is truly a unique option," said Cheryl Bonk, vice president of sales and marketing for M/I Homes. "Each floor plan includes the open living space today's homeowners prize, comfortable master suites and a number of extra touches buyers will appreciate. They're ideal for anyone seeking an impeccably finished home with the modern features they expect from new construction, as well a location near highly desirable destinations such as exclusive country clubs, upscale fitness centers, gourmet grocery stores and restaurants."

Bonk added that the ranch plans at Wentworth are especially flexible due to the opportunity to add upper-level living space and bedrooms. "We've heard from several prospective buyers who want to downsize to a ranch home, but still have college-age kids living at home, that they love how the bonus level option lets them carve out a separate space for their kids," said Bonk. "This bonus space also works well for empty nesters and retirees who want extra room for grandkids or a designated area for adult children and their families to stay when they visit, or any other buyer who wants a bit more space away from the home's main living area."

Buyers can also personalize their home with other optional spaces available in select plans, such as a morning room, butler's pantry or formal dining room. They can also opt for a luxury master bath with dual sinks and a separate tub and walk-in shower.

Bonk emphasized that while the majority of home sites at Wentworth back up to Kemper Lakes Golf Club and afford homeowners views of pristine fairways and greens, buyers who want their first choice of home site will need to attend the May 4 Grand Release event to lock in their appointment.

In addition to its location alongside world-class golfing, Wentworth is also near recreational amenities including Heron Creek Forest Preserve, Farmington Bath and Tennis Club and Royal Melbourne Country Club. Nearby retail centers feature Mariano's, World Market, TruCore Pilates, Pure Barre, and numerous other shopping and dining attractions. The highly rated Lake Zurich School District will serve the community.

Homes at all M/I Homes communities come standard with the builder's industry-leading 15-Year Transferable Structural Warranty, which not only allows buyers to purchase with confidence, but also adds value if the home is sold in the future. All homes are also WHOLE HOME Certified, an M/I Homes designation indicating the builder's superior approach when constructing homes. Upon testing, an M/I home will receive a more favorable HERS (Home Energy Rating System) score than an Energy Star-certified home, which can save buyers upwards of 30 percent on their energy bills. A lower HERS Index means lower energy costs, and on average an M/I home achieves a HERS rating of 62, considerably lower than other resale homes and other builders in the market.
