Nominate grand marshals for Aurora parades

The City of Aurora is seeking nominations for grand marshals of this year's Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades.

A nominee must be an Auroran who has made significant contributions to the quality of life in the city, whether it be in the areas of civic or social services, humanitarianism or through personal achievements.

A nominee must be a current or longtime past resident of Aurora or has brought notable distinction to Aurora.

In addition, the nominee for the Memorial Day Parade must be a veteran, active military personnel or public supporter of veterans' causes.

The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Friday, April 19.

For the Fourth of July Parade nomination, visit www.aurora-il.org/1239/4th-of-July-Parade.

The Memorial Day Parade will at noon Monday, May 27.

The Fourth of July Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 4.
