You Don't Need to Have a Green Thumb to Join this Garden Club

There is no need to have a green thumb to join the Long Grove-Kildeer Garden Club. Membership is open to anyone interested in gardening. The only prerequisite is that you enjoy and appreciate garden spaces. The club has gardeners of all ability levels, from seasoned gardeners to gardening novices. And, members hail from the Chicago suburbs, all the way up to the Wisconsin border.

The club culture is casual and friendly, and members enjoy a camaraderie based on an interest in gardening, landscaping and nature in general.

The club meets on the second Monday of each month at 9:30am in Long Grove. Some months, expert speakers present informative programs on a number of gardening topics. Other months, the club hosts field trips to garden walks, garden centers and garden exhibits.

You're sure to learn something new, from 'how to create your own beautiful holiday planter' to 'how to fend off garden pests'.

The Long Grove-Kildeer Garden Club meets at the Reed Turner Nature Center at 3849 Old McHenry Road in Long Grove, IL. If you are interested in learning more about the club, please contact Penny Fulkerson at pennysgarden@att.net
