Eisenhower teachers serve up the fun!

Hoover students gave their teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support local education and their community.

Several fun-loving teachers from Hoover Math and Science Academy in Hoffman Estates volunteered on Wednesday, May 1st, at the Hoffman Estates McDonald's located on Higgins Road, where they served students and their families in a fundraiser for their school. The highlights of the night were appearances by student band led by Mrs. Young. The restaurant was packed with students and parents that were amazed by the students' performances.

Hoover Principal Mrs. Rosenblum was at the event mingling with the families and doing various jobs during this event. Mrs. Foy worked the drive-thru window with expert McDonald's employees, collecting donations and delivering orders. The apple pie box was worn enthusiastically by Kyle Sustich, and Mrs. Boeing while Miss. Thodos and Mrs. Koebernick sold pies and did a fabulous job raising funds for the school!

The proceeds from the sale of 201 pies, donated by McDonald's Owner-Operator, David Bear, went directly to benefit the Hoover PTA, as well as Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales.

The Eisenhower Junior High community has an amazing network of support for their school, McDonald's was busy the entire evening!

Mr. Sustich said," We shine brighter together, just like the Golden Arches!"

David Bear, Owner-Operator of the Hoffman Estates McDonald's, and the Bear Family were delighted to participate in this worthy cause for education and the community.

"McTeacher's Night is part of McDonald's larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community," Bear said.

"We are proud to serve the families of the Hoover community through the McTeacher's Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community."

Bear donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event. Inspired by the success of McTeacher's Night, the Bear family has set their sights on partnering with other schools in the area.

"The teachers and families who supported this event are the fabric that strengthens our community," Bear said.
