Catholic author to speak on faith in today's world April 26 in Naperville

Do you have "Questions and Doubts and Fears … Oh My!" when it comes to figuring out whether Jesus is relevant in today's world?

Explore these questions, doubts, fears and more with Barbara Gleespen, a Catholic speaker and author. The program, sponsored by Sophia's Circle, will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, in the Lighthouse room at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.

During the program, Gleespen will suggest what Jesus really did want us to take away from his brief ministry on earth and how that message applies in 2019. She will focus on how history has changed faith, and how faith can change the world. The author of "In Our Image - A Pathway to Faith for Today's Christian," Gleespen also will delve into discovering ways to attain a more personal relationship with God.

An active member of St. Cletus Parish in La Grange for over 25 years, Gleespen is a member of its social concerns and compassionate care ministries, and participates in the BEDS program, an agency that provides services to the homeless. Before embarking on a vocation to share her faith journey, the mother of four and grandmother of seven owned and operated a Montessori Preschool for 25 years.

Sophia's Circle is a ministry that offers three micro retreats annually for women to explore topics related to spiritual reconnections of faith. Each program begins with wine and light refreshments.

Reservations, at $10 each payable by check or in cash at the door, are encouraged by Tuesday, April 23.

Walk-ins the evening of the program also are welcomed. Consider inviting a friend to join you or make some new friends and spend a relaxing evening in each other's company.
