Prepare for the transition to college through COD's 'College Success Series'

This summer, the College of DuPage is hosting the "College Success Series" to help students manage the transition to college coursework.

The following courses will be offered in July:

Common App Essay Workshop:

Get help completing college and scholarship applications by working with an instructor and peers to create a working draft of your common application essay. This three-day series of courses will be offered Mondays to Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. July 8-10 at COD's Naperville Center; 6 to 8 p.m. July 15-17 at COD's Westmont Center; and 6 to 8 p.m. July 22-24 in the Student Resource Center on the College's Glen Ellyn campus. The price of each course within the series is $189.

Note- and Test-Taking Skills:

Explore different methods of effective note-taking and learn to discern important material to remain organized. This one-day course will be offered three times: from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 8, at COD's Naperville Center; 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 15, at COD's Westmont Center; and 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, July 22, in the Berg Instructional Center on the College's Glen Ellyn campus. The price of each course is $49.

Email Etiquette and Group Study Strategies:

Work on soft skills and master the art of email etiquette with professors and peers as well as making the best of study group sessions. This one-day course will be offered three times: from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, at COD's Naperville Center; 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at COD's Westmont Center; and 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, in the Student Resource Center on the College's Glen Ellyn campus. The price of each course is $49.

Time Management and Library Skills:

Learn to manage time to accommodate the workload and enrichment activities that come with a college schedule. This one-day course will be offered three times: from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, at COD's Westmont Center; 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, at COD's Naperville Center; and 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, in the Student Resource Center on the college's Glen Ellyn campus. The price of each course is $49.
