Rotary Club blood drive a success

The Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods is extremely pleased with the results of a blood drive they recently coordinated at the Lake Zurich Area Chamber's 2019 "Everything Expo" on March 16th. The event was held at Concorde Banquets in Kildeer. Community members came out on a cold but sunny Saturday and donated 25 units of blood.

The Club coordinated the event with Vitalant, formerly known as Lifesource. They serve the Chicago area in providing blood products to the thousands of patients who need them each year. Vitalant's blood collection van was brought on-site to make it easy and convenient to donate.

Any community members who could not donate on the 16th are encouraged to select another date, time, and location to donate. Donors may pre-register directly at www.Vitalant.org, where more information on becoming a blood donor will be found. Donors should specify group code 935B when registering.

The "Everything Expo" had nearly 70 community vendors from the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce on hand to discuss their businesses and non-profits.

The Rotary Club meets for breakfast on Tuesdays at 7:15 AM, at Harbor Chase in Long Grove. Prospective members are always welcome to attend.

Questions should be directed to the Rotary Club Blood Drive coordinator, Jim Dopler, at 847-421-7228, or jim.dopler@aol.com.
