PAL 'S 22nd Fundraiser- tremendous Success

The 22nd annual Partners in Adult Learning fundraiser was another great success. More than 240 attended the luncheon Sunday, March 17, at Stonegate Banquet & Conference Centre in Hoffman Estates.

Partners in Adult Learning parents and families worked hard to make this a special event in a new location.

The afternoon featured appetizers, a plated lunch, beverages, raffles and live and silent auction items. Luncheon music was provided by Tom Ellis from Nashville.

A special thank you goes to Bob and Marilyn Peterson for their extra effort in getting some great silent and live auction items. Thanks also to Bob for setting up and doing all the audiovisual for PAL.

Unique offerings this year included a raffle for two United Airlines domestic round trip tickets. There were more than 160 silent auction items.

The live auction featured two tickets to Garth Brooks with two tickets on United Airlines, tickets to see the Rolling Stones at Soldier Field, six tickets to the Chicago Cubs, tickets to hear Tony Bennett at Ravinia, Bears preseason tickets and two passes to the Brian Piccolo Press Conference at Halas Hall, a Stan Mikita autographed jersey and tickets to a Blackhawks game and more.

Auctioneer Greg Dellinger kept the audience entertained as he promoted these great live auction items.

"PAL is very grateful to have such a large group of dedicated supporters for 22 years," said Paul Jochim, a Partners in Adult Learning parent and one of the organizers. "Through their kindness and generosity, we can continue creating opportunities and opening doors for many years to come."
