London Student Gives Big

Sixth grade London Middle School student, Jonathan Martinez donated his own hard earned money to a recent school food drive that was collecting donations for the Wheeling Food Pantry.

Jonathan started by bringing a bag of quarters to school to donate. Next, he brought in $8 single dollar bills. As the food drive came to a close, Jonathan brought $60 to donate to the pantry.

His teachers reached out to his parents to be sure they knew of Jonathan's generosity. Mom was not aware he had chosen to make such large donations, but she gave her blessing. She told her son's teachers that it is money Jonathan earned on his own and he can choose what he wants to do with the funds.

Jonathan - your family, school and community are proud of you and thank you for your generosity!
