Schweikher House to host monthly lecture series

The Schweikher House Preservation Trust invites the public to attend "Conversations in the Studio" - a monthly lecture series that focuses on the trust's mission to connect Schaumburg residents with the historic Schweikher House at 645 S. Meacham Road through topics covering art, architecture and science.

The first conversation is offered at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at the studio. The event will feature artist Maggie Capettini, who will present a history of plein air painting, discuss its modern resurgence, and share her modern tools and equipment along with some of her completed paintings.

Tickets are $5, and reservations are required. The event will run about an hour and will include a question-and-answer period followed by a brief opening of the house for attendees to view.
