Get your daily 10,000 steps in, during guided hikes with Forest Preserve District of Kane County naturalists.

Each month, participants will take an invigorating two-hour hike at a forest preserve. "Trek with a Naturalist" programs are designed for those who like active hiking. The hikes will be led by a naturalist, who will interpret the ecology of the preserve along the way.

Join one or all three hikes:

• The first will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Bowes Creek Forest Preserve, 9N420 Crawford Road, Elgin.

• The second hike will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Big Rock Forest Preserve, 46W072 Jericho Road, Big Rock. Meet at the Jericho Road entrance.

• The third hike will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at Camp Tomo Chi-Chi Knolls, 40W095 Freeman Road, Gilberts.

These free programs are for ages 18 or older. Advance registration is required. Call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register.
