Lenten Concert at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Des Plaines, Friday, April 5

Lenten Concert at The Shire of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Des Plaines, Friday, April 5 at 7:00. P.M.

As we prepare for Holy Week, it can be easy to get caught up in logistics and to-dos and lose sight of our need to prepare our hearts and minds during this Lenten season.

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe invites you to: "Lift My Soul," a multi-lingual concert of sacred music featuring Teresa Scalise and Rev. Bobby Krueger.

Join us on Friday, April 5th at 7P.M. for a concert designed to guide your Lenten reflections and fill your spiritual buckets in anticipation of Easter. The concert will be held in the Chapel of St Joseph, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe 1170 N River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.

"Lift My Soul" is also the title of the newly released album from HymnMusic Records- a collaboration between Teresa and her brother (the album's producer) Nick.

HymnMusic Artist Teresa Scalise is originally from Des Plaines, and her love of music was cultivated at Maine West High School and the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. While pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre, she discovered a vocation to Music Ministry. Since 2011, Teresa has been the Music Director at St. Bede the Venerable in Chicago where she directs three choirs and collaborates with Spanish ministries for bilingual Masses. She has sung at churches all over the Chicagoland area, including cantoring at Holy Name Cathedral for the recent Episcopal Ordination Mass.

Rev. Bobby Krueger is the Pastor at St. Leonard's Parish in Berwyn. Prior to his ordination in 2012, he could frequently be found as an accompanist- sharing his musical gifts with parishioners at Mass from behind a piano.

The concert will be free, and a collection will be taken to support the acquisition of sacred art in the Chapel of St. Joseph.
