Arlington Heights Community Concert Band Recruiting Musicians

The Arlington Heights Community Concert Band is recruiting area musicians to join the band. The band performs four indoor concerts at Forest View Education Center in Arlington Heights, as well as four outdoor summer concerts per concert season. Rehearsal is currently underway for the final indoor concert on April 28.

Under the direction of Mike Madonia, a variety of music is played such as marches, show tunes, light classical and contemporary pieces. Membership is open to anyone ages 14 and older who has experience playing a musical instrument. No audition is required and seat placement is at the conductor's discretion.

The band members have varied skill levels, from professional musicians to former high school and college musicians. The band is especially looking for musicians who play alto sax, French horn, bass clarinet and trombone, but any instrument is welcome.

Weekly rehearsals are from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Forest View Educational Center Theater, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights. Bring your instrument and try the band out or just come to visit a rehearsal.
