Please your palate with Farm to Table Cooking Series

Learn exactly where your ingredients come from as you make tasty dishes from scratch at Schaumburg Park District's Farm to Table Cooking Series.

The classes will take place 10 a.m. to noon at Spring Valley's Volkening Heritage Farm, 201 S. Plum Grove Road. Themes for the classes include cooking with ironware and making butter.

"This cooking series allows participants to really understand their food and where it comes from," said Patty Kennedy, farm program coordinator. "The recipes are simple and easy to learn, so you can try them out at home."

Upcoming classes include:

• Feb. 16: 10 a.m.-noon, Cookin' with Iron

• March 2: 10 a.m.-noon, Smooth as Butter

Cost for each class is $12 for residents and $18 for nonresidents. Participants may register for any or all of the classes.
