Aurora Lions get sneak peek at Paramount's 2019-20 Broadway Series; volunteer ushers needed
Officials of Paramount Theatre previewed the Aurora venue's 2019-2020 Broadway Series for Aurora Noon Lions Club members Feb. 4 at Luigi's Pizza in Aurora.
Joel Friend, Paramount sales and corporate relations director, said the ninth annual series will feature "Newsies" on Sept. 4-Oct. 20; "Beauty and the Beast" on Nov. 13-Jan. 19, 2020; "The Secret of My Success" on Feb. 12-March 29; and "Kinky Boots," a Midwest regional premiere, on April 29-June 14.
According to Friend, the historic 1,888-seat theater, opened in 1931, lists 30,000 Broadway Series subscribers, the second largest subscriber base in Illinois.
Friend advised subscribers to renew by by March 17. After that date, non-renewed subscriber seats will be released to the public. Call (630) 896-6666 or visit ParamountAurora.com for reservations or more information.
Jenna Gagliano-Blunk, Paramount front-of-house manager, appealed for added volunteer ushers. She said she is seeking additional volunteer ushers, no experience needed, to join her current corps of 322 ushers.
Gagliano-Blunk said she emails and an "SOS" to registered ushers when a shortage is projected. In addition to working the Broadway Series, ushers are needed for Classic Movie Mondays (when admission is $1), Young Audience programs, concerts, comedians, graduations, dance recitals and rental events.
