EMC Children's Chorus to sing in concert with Boys & Girls Club of Elgin March 3

Supported by a $5,000 sponsorship grant from Comcast Corp., the Elgin Master Chorale Children's Chorus is collaborating with the Boys and Girls Club in a project, "Get the Whole World Singing," that includes workshops and a concert performance in early March.

"Get the Whole World Singing" will culminate in a final concert at noon Sunday, March 3, at the Imago Creative Studios, 216 Prairie St. in downtown Elgin.

The concert will feature participants from the Boys and Girls Club, current EMC Children's Chorus members, as well as other youth from the community, under the baton of EMC Children's Chorus Conductor Matthew Bishop.

"The Elgin Master Chorale is dedicated to community involvement and engagement," Bishop said. "We believe choral music has a unique ability to link people and unite communities, and we're demonstrating that belief in our collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club of Elgin."

"Get the Whole World Singing" is a new venture for the EMC Children's Chorus, which it hopes will bring the experience of choral singing to children and youth of the Elgin community.

The Elgin Master Chorale launched the EMC Children's Chorus in 2016. The chorus brings together young singers from all over the Fox Valley to make beautiful music, form lasting friendships, and start a lifelong love of singing.

The children's chorus performs several times a year alongside the Elgin Master Chorale, as well as in local neighborhoods and beyond, teaching its young singers the value and joy of serving its community through song.
