'Science Night' to feature 'The Birds' Feb. 8

The Elgin Public Museum, 225 Grand Blvd., will host a "Science Night: The Birds" from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8.

Discover calls and identify features of our feathered friends and make pine cone bird feeders. Investigate beaks of different bird types to see what they chow down on in a hands-on lab.

Learn about the passenger pigeon, extinct for over a century.

Check out the museum's extensive bird collection, a legacy of the museum's Audubon Society roots, all in time for Peter Olson's new exhibit.

Cost is $2 per person or free for members.
