Kids make scarves for veterans at Vernon Area Library

Paul Baffico, founder and president of the Lake County Veterans and Family Services Foundation, was surrounded by young patrons at Vernon Area Library in Lincolnshire on Jan. 21.

The library invited grade school students and their families to make scarves for area veterans and learn about the work of the Lake County Veterans and Family Services Foundation on the MLK Day of Service.

The nonprofit organization connects veterans and their families with each other and with the benefits and resources they earned and deserve.

Baffico served in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne from 1970 to 1971.
