Library Offers Programs to Help with College Planning
Money, tests and a plethora of decisions add stress to the college planning process, but upcoming February and March programs at the Schaumburg Township District Library (STDL) will provide valuable information that may ease the anxiety. All programs require registration and take place in the Adult Classroom of the library, located at 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. "The ACT Practice Exam" will take place from noon-4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, for high school students in grades 10-12. An STDL card is required to participate. This exam, offered by Princeton Review, will help students determine whether they are ready for the upcoming ACT exam.
"Don't Pay the College Sticker Price" will take place from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, for parents and students. Joe Orsolini of College Aid Planners will share three key areas of opportunity to reduce the overall cost of a college education and take advantage of tax-saving opportunities.
"The College Process: When to Start" is scheduled from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, March 7. Thomas J. Jaworski of Quest College Consulting will address the concerns of parents and students, while also sharing ideas to help families of high school freshmen through juniors.
"Navigating the College Planning Process" is slated from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 19. In this workshop, parents of high school students will learn about new strategies designed to save money while finding the best college fit for their students.
