District 73 holds information meetings for kindergarten

To inform parents about the process for registering their children for kindergarten, Hawthorn District 73 in Vernon Hills is holding several kindergarten parent information meetings.

The upcoming meetings, which will include information about the individual schools, curriculum, and registration, will take place at the following times and locations:

• 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, Elementary North, 301 Hawthorn Parkway, Vernon Hills

• 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, Aspen Elementary, 500 N. Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills

• 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, Townline Elementary, 810 N. Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills

• 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, Elementary South, 430 N. Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills

Children who turn 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2019, are eligible for kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year.

All students attending a District 73 school must live within the District 73 boundaries. Parents who would like to verify that they live within the boundaries should visit the boundary map on the district's website, www.hawthorn73.org/district-reorganization-plan.
