Lambs Farm celebrates breaking holiday sales record

Participant bakers and staff who work in the Sugar Maple Country Store at Lambs Farm in Libertyville are celebrating a record-breaking $300,000 in 2018 holiday catalog sales.

Sales grew by $19,000 over last year, a 7-percent increase. There has been a steady growth in sales each year. The online store allows customers to purchase their favorites at any time, corporations ship hundreds of gifts to their clients and others share the mission of Lambs Farm by sending goodies to their family and friends,

Staff and participants hustled around the clock to produce and ship more than 19,000 gifts. From Famous Butter and Iced Lemon Cookies to Snowballs and Pinwheels, the Sugar Maple Country Store & Bakery sold more than 4,500 tins and more than 2,400 whopping pounds of creamy, rich chocolate in just a few weeks. While participants are sprinkling cookies, packaging tins and assembling assortments during the busiest time of year, they learn new skills, recognize the value of teamwork and have fun.

This year, participants have a new sales goal and new look: green chef coats and custom hats. The new attire is the result of a 24-hour National Bakery Day fundraiser that took place in September. Each participant baker was presented with their first official uniform after the season ended to celebrate their dedication, perseverance and professionalism in the kitchen.
