The Essence of Freedom Run is Going Virtual in 2019

"The Essence of Freedom Run was the signature fundraising event for Support Our Soldiers Freedom, Inc., (SOS Freedom)" said Marilee Papale, SOS Freedom president. "As the event grew, we had participants travel from across the country and even internationally. This growth allowed us to provide assistance to a record number of veterans in 2018," she said. "We hope the Essence of Freedom Challenge will help us extend our assistance to even more of our country's heroes."

Registration for the event is $40 through March 31, $45 April 1-30 and $50 May 1-26. Registrants can run a 5k or 10k race as many times as they like May 1-26. They will upload their times into the Essence of Freedom Challenge app. Awards will be presented to the fastest overall male and female in the 5K and 10K leader boards. All participants will receive a t-shirt and free admission to a pancake breakfast Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day) in Deerfield, Ill.
