Donations needed for fourth Veterans Baby Shower Jan. 26

The Tri-City Evergreen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2298 is hosting its fourth Veterans Baby Shower from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the post home, 117 S. First St. in West Dundee.

Community businesses, restaurants and individuals make it possible through their support of the auxiliary to bless these veterans with a car seat, Pack-n-Play with bassinet, diaper bag full of necessities, blankets and baby outfits and fond memories of how they were blessed beyond expectations with a baby shower.

They are asking local restaurants to assist by providing an appetizer or one of the local's favorite dishes to serve guests. They ask for approximately 100 pieces.

They also are accepting cash donations so they can purchase the larger items direct from Evenflo, then every veteran receives the same car seat, Pack-n-Play, diaper bag.

They also accept donations of diapers, receiving blankets, baby outfits which they will assemble together in a gift basket for the moms. The average cost is $160 per veteran mom for the larger items. They gladly accept newborn and size 1 diapers, wipes, baby wash, etc. any baby items you would like to provide.

The organizers wish to thank you for your support.
