New year, new beginnings: CLC's Quick-Start event Jan. 8; Spring Semester begins Jan. 22

Make 2019 the year that you'll begin your bachelor's degree, work toward an associate degree or certificate, start a new career or develop your talents at the College of Lake County! Spring Semester classes begin Jan. 22, and registration is open to both new and current students.

View course offerings, both classroom-based and online, and learn how to become a CLC student at www.clcillinois.edu/spring. Following the holiday break, all three campuses are open for in-person registration Monday through Friday in addition to the option to register online. For details on hours by campus, visit www.clcillinois.edu. Additionally, visit any campus on Saturday, Jan. 12 and 19, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for application, registration and financial aid assistance. Bookstores also open.

Additionally, the college will host a Quick-Start event to help students build their futures on Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 4-7 p.m. at the Grayslake, Lakeshore (Waukegan) and Southlake (Vernon Hills) Campuses. Besides applying for admission or registering for classes, participants can speak directly with advisors and counselors on-site at Quick-Start to receive a personalized roadmap for success. Representatives also will discuss financial aid as well as student job and internship opportunities. CLC's Guaranteed Transfer Admission Partnership allows CLC students to be admitted to one of 27 local, regional or international partner institutions by meeting program requirements. This ensures a seamless transfer of credit to the four-year colleges and universities.

If you're unsure about career options, you can learn CLC programs offered in fields such as business, manufacturing, technology and healthcare at free information sessions. Each session

lasts about an hour and includes an overview of the career field, salary, job outlook and educational requirements. View a schedule of information sessions by academic division at www.clcillinois.edu/infosessions.

If you need to complete a GED (high school equivalency), learn English as a Second Language or build basic competency in reading, writing and math, the Adult Education and ESL division offers free courses at all three campuses and other Lake County locations that also begin in January.
