Glen Ellyn church to hold Longest Night Service Dec. 21

Southminster Presbyterian Church, 680 S. Park Blvd. in Glen Ellyn, invites the community to participate in the observance of Christmas services meant to fulfill everyone's passion.

The Longest Night Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21. If this holiday season isn't very "merry" for you, come for the longest, darkest night of the year for a service of comfort. They welcome you to share in Christ's light on this darkest of nights.

On the Fourth Sunday of Advent, Dec. 23, the 9:30 a.m. service will feature the Lighting of the Advent Candle. Fellowship will follow the service.

On Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24, hear the story of Jesus' birth through special music, Scripture and the singing of Christmas carols at 7:30 p.m. The service will include the lighting of the Christ candle and individual candles.

The nursery will be open but not be staffed. They will reserve some pews for parents with young children. Christmas celebrates the willingness of God to become an infant - we celebrate our whole church family, including little children, gathering together for this observation as well.
