200 Years: A historical Happy Birthday for Mary Todd Lincoln

One of Batavia's most famous residents is Mary Todd Lincoln, who was committed to Bellevue Place from May to September of 1875, just 10 years after Abraham Lincoln's assassination.

She is celebrating a milestone this year. Born on Dec. 13, 1818, this year marks her 200th birthday!

Join the Depot Museum in wishing Mary Todd Lincoln a happy birthday on the day of her birth, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Batavia Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson St.

The Batavia Depot Museum is happy to present Donna Daniels as Mrs. Lincoln for the evening.

Daniels has been bringing Mrs. Lincoln to life for audiences nationwide since 1988. Born and raised in Batavia, Daniels is excited to bring Mary Lincoln to her hometown for such a momentous occasion!

The evening will begin with making hats in the style that the Lincolns wore, hear a bit of reminiscing from our guest of honor, and enjoy a piece of birthday cake.

This is an all ages event and the fee is $7.

Register through the Batavia Park District at (630) 879-5235 or visit bataviaparks.org.
