NAMI 'Saturday Coffee' on managing the holidays

NAMI Kane-south, DeKalb and Kendall Counties, an affiliate of National Alliance on Mental Illness, will sponsor a "Saturday Coffee" from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday Dec. 8, at Centennial Counseling Center, 1120 E. Main St., Suite 102, Cedar Crossing Building, St. Charles.

A presentation and discussion about "Managing the Holidays" will be presented by Hollyn Michaels, Psy. D, and Eileen Sullivan, a licensed clinical social worker at Centennial Counseling Center. Topics will include: mood disorders and other health conditions; self-care tips to manage the holidays; and mental health resources. The public is welcome to attend a free Saturday Coffees offering various topics and locations. Enjoy light refreshments and learn what NAMI KDK offers in mental health education, advocacy and support for families and individuals living with mental health issues. Holidays can be a stressful time for everyone. For families and people living with mental health conditions, NAMI KDK provides free Family to Family Support Groups and a Connection Recovery Group.

DeKalb Family Support Group meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Kishwaukee Hospital.

NAMI Connection Recovery Group meets from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at NAMI KDK office, 400 Mercy Lane, Aurora.
