Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce honors community volunteers

Individuals who make a difference in their communities were recently honored by the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce during a special dinner at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee.

The recipients were Tim and Lucy DeLap of East Dundee; Dave and Marge Edwards of West Dundee; Chris Swanson of Gilberts; Sara Miller of Carpentersville; and Norine Olson of Sleepy Hollow.

The honorees are nominated by each of the villages for their various commitments of volunteer efforts throughout the year.

"This is the sixth year our Chamber has sponsored this event," said Melissa Hernandez, president of the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce. "We feel it is very important to bring the spotlight on our incredible volunteers who tirelessly work to make their community a success for the benefit of all."

In addition to the community award recipients, the chamber also recognized Kajira Blunt, the Boys and Girls Club of Dundee Township 2018 Youth of the Year.
