Saint Viator to hold entrance exam Dec. 1

Saint Viator High School will hold its annual entrance exam, the High School Placement Test, for eighth-grade students interested in attending the school.

The exam, which is required for all new students, begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at 1213 E. Oakton St., in Arlington Heights. Registration prior to the exam is encouraged to expedite the check-in process. Students will find the link to register at www.saintviator.com beginning Nov. 17.

"We welcome any students interested in taking the exam to reach out to us early if they have any questions," said Christine Bremner, director of enrollment. "With 300 students and their families attending our Open House in October, we expect a great turnout and promising freshman class."

All schools in the Archdiocese of Chicago administer the High School Placement Test written by Scholastic Testing Services, which measures a student's ability level and achievement levels in reading, mathematics and language arts. The results of the exam help determine admissions at Saint Viator, along with class placement and opportunities to enter the school's Querbes Scholars program.
