Hosanna! is drop-off site for Operation Christmas Child
Hosanna! Lutheran Church in St. Charles will once again to be a regional drop-off site this year for the international "Operation Christmas Child."
This project of international Christian relief organization Samaritan's Purse (www.samaritanspurse.org) has collected and hand-delivered more than 100 million shoe box gifts to hurting kids in more than 130 countries since 1993.
This ministry helps to spread hope and brings joy to millions of needy boys and girls throughout the world during the Christmas season.
Shoe boxes filled with age-appropriate small gifts can be dropped off at Hosanna! starting Nov. 12-18.
Hours for the drop-off are: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, Thursday, Nov. 15; 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, and Friday, Nov. 16; 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14;, and 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 17-18.
Gift selections to put in the shoe boxes include small toys, school supplies, hygiene items (no candy, toothpaste, gum, war-related toy items, food, snacks, liquid or powdered drink mixes, lotions, medications/vitamins or breakable items, please) and a special note of encouragement.
A suggested donation of $9 would also be appreciated to help cover the shipping cost.
