'Holidays on the Town' in downtown Palatine is Nov. 16

The holiday season is fast approaching, and the Downtown Palatine Business Association is helping area residents kick it off with the very popular, Holidays on the Town event from 5 until 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, in downtown Palatine.

The Downtown Palatine Business Association Holiday Trolley will whisk attendees around to the 24 participating businesses who will open their doors for this fun and festive evening in Palatine's historic downtown.

A Holidays on the Town Passport is required to participate in the event, and to ride on the Holiday Trolley. Passports will be available for pre-purchase at any of the participating locations, and on the night of the event for $5.

Experience the quaint shops, storefronts and restaurants in the downtown area and explore all they have to offer as you ring in the holiday season with family and friends. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine tastings will be offered at select locations, in addition to raffles, product and service demonstrations, special giveaways and other seasonal offers.

The Downtown Palatine Business Association is made up of more than two dozen businesses and organizations located in downtown Palatine. The organization's mission is to provide opportunities for member businesses to join forces as they promote their products and/or services, while engaging local and area community members through yearly events that encourage commerce.

The Downtown Palatine Business Association hosts/presents community events that are open to the public each year, including: Girls on the Town, which is held on the third Friday in April, the annual Sidewalk Sales in late May/early June, the Sweet Pea Pet Parade held on the Sunday during Palatine Street Fest, and Holidays on the Town on the Friday night before Thanksgiving. The Downtown Palatine Business Association core membership area is bordered on the north by Colfax Street, on the west by Smith Street, on the south by Palatine Road and on the east by Plum Grove Road. Associate members are also able to join the organization, but their business must be located in the village of Palatine.
