Tickets still available for Addison mayor's charity event

Tickets are still available for the 28th annual Addison Mayor's Community Charity Ball.

Dinner tickets are $100, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the 17 organizations that are part of the event, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10, at Alta Villa Banquets, 430 N. Addison Road. The event begins with cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.

"Since this event began in 1991, it has raised an incredible $1 million," said Mayor Rich Veenstra, who will host the event with his wife, Maryann. "All of that has benefited Addison."

Attendees are treated to an open bar, dinner, entertainment by the Addison Trail High School Chamber Strings and Elmhurst College Jazz Band, cash raffle and silent auction. Those who cannot attend are encouraged to participate by making a donation, purchasing raffle tickets, or bidding in the online silent auction.

Details are available at ItHappensInAddison.com.

The ball benefits the following groups: Addison Township Food Pantry, Addison Center for the Arts, Addison Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Americans of Italian Descent, Concord Lutheran School, District 4 Educational Foundation, District 88 Foundation, GlenOaks Hospital Foundation, Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club of Addison, Knights of Columbus, Medinah Shriners, Parks & Recreation Foundation, St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Philip the Apostle Catholic School, Village of Addison Sister Cities of Addison, and Women's Club of Addison.
