Olive-Mary Stitt Elementary invites families to gather and read at annual Family Reading Night

As District 25's One Book, One School effort gets underway, the staff at Olive-Mary Stitt Elementary School decided to bring their community even closer together through the wonders of reading.

The school staff hosted their annual Family Reading Night where parents, grandparents, community members and, of course, the students, visited Olive after hours to connect through books.

Lead by Library Media Center Director, Nancy Brown, the evening was a host to many activities and even a visit from The Grove Nature Center, which would bring the District's One Book, One School book, Wishtree, to life for the families.

Each elementary school in the District is reading the book Wishtree and then incorporating various learning activities and community activities using the book as a base.

One Book, One School fosters a love of reading and promotes a sense of community by finding common ground and growth through discussion about Wishtree.
