Maureen Christine to perform Oct. 28 at St. Charles Library

National recording artist and Broadway-style entertainer Maureen Christine returns to the St. Charles Public Library stage at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, to perform "Tonight in Tinseltown," a musical collection of songs from Hollywood movies, Broadway show tunes, and a few swingin' standards. Joining Maureen is Michael Bazan on woodwinds, and pianist Chuck Larkin.

Christine, a national recording artist and concert vocalist, has opened for Willie Nelson, shared the stage with Barry Manilow and sung for astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

Bazan, director of bands at Wredling Middle School in St. Charles and adjunct saxophone professor at the Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College, is a professional woodwindist. He has played with a number of musical legends, including Cab Calloway, Bob Hope, Frankie Valli, The Platters, The Four Tops, The Buckinghams, Milton Berle, and legendary entertainer Jerry Lewis.

Larkin is a mainstay in Chicago musical theater and cabaret. He was the associate conductor in the long running Jersey Boys from May 2007 to January 2010 (Chicago) and for the National Tour from November 2011 to March 2014. Other credits include hundreds of cabaret and club performances, and composer and lyricist.

Since 1981, the library has featured a wide variety of musical performances. The public is welcome and the concert is free to attend.
