Gandhi Samaj Of Chicago celebrates the Navratri Festival in Park Ridge

A Chicago-based nonprofit organization Gandhi Samaj Of Chicago celebrates the Navratri Festival on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the beautiful Gymnastic hall of Maine East High School, Park Ridge. The program includes Live Garba and Raas with live band from Rohit Parekh's Live Band. More than 600 people attended and danced at the Navratri celebrations.

Navratri festival is one of the most awaited festivals in Chicago for the community. Men, Women Youngs Older and Children dress up in Beautiful multi-color attire and gather in large numbers came to celebrate and performed Garba and Dandiya music during the season of Navratri.

Navratri celebration was organized by Mr. Hitesh Gandhi, President of Gandhi Samaj Of Chicago. During an interview Mr. Gandhi said "The festival, which began on October 10 end with the triumph of good over evil on the day of Dusshera on October 19. Our community celebrates the colors of Navratri, the grandeur of Durga Puja, and triumph of good over evil. families and friends come together to pray, dance, and observe traditions in hundreds of different forms passed down from generation to generation".

A devotee said "This is an oldest cultural organization of Indian-Americans over three decades of existence in Chicagoland. Our purpose of the organization is to teach cultural awareness, traditional values and mythological and historical roots to current generations and beyond Congratulations president of Gandhi Samaj of Chicago Hitesh Gandhi for organizing beautiful event in Chicagoland."
