Chamber Music on the Fox to feature the music of love, longing Oct. 22

On Monday, Oct. 22, the Chamber Music on the Fox will present the music of Schumann, Bridge, and Faure in a program titled "The Romantics."

The music celebrates love in its triumphs and losses, and features pianist Aaron Stampfl (Wheaton College faculty), violinist Renee-Paule Gauthier (Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra), violist Rose Armbrust (Wheaton College faculty) and cellist Sara Sitzer (Chamber Music on the Fox co-artistic director and Elgin Symphony Orchestra).

"This music represents some of the most rich and lustrous works of the piano quartet repertoire," Sitzer said. "We're especially excited to be presenting the program at the beautiful back room in Imago, where we have presented a number of Chamber Music on the Fox concerts. The acoustics are excellent, the atmosphere is informal and fun, and we're counting on it being a perfect space for the grand piano we're bringing in solely for this program."

The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Imago, 216 Prairie St. in downtown Elgin.

General admission is $20, student tickets are available for $10. The Chamber Music on the Fox also offers a pay-what-you-can option for artists.
