New Lyceum Lecture presents 'Working to End World War II' Oct. 22

"Working to End World War II," a New Lyceum Lecture Series program, will be presented at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.

The drama that we refer to as World War II was a disaster in the making from the end of the first world war. Its fundamentals were laid down during 1919 and 1925. As a result, the world had to cope with a whole series of problems that arose in Germany, Italy, and Japan.

Presenter Daniel N. Myers, executive director of the Churchill Centre, examines world leaders during World War II and assesses whether and how they worked to save the world - where they came from, their mistakes, and how they organized their own countries and the world to win the war.

The Churchill Centre was founded in 1968 to inspire leadership, statesmanship, vision and courage through the thoughts, words, works and deeds of British Prime Minister Winston Spencer Churchill.

The lecture is free; however, registration is required.

The New Lyceum Lecture Series 2018-19 season is sponsored by the Batavia Public Library Foundation.
