Get tickets for Marine Corps Birthday Ball Nov. 10

The Marine Corps League McHenry County Detachment No. 1009 will host its 243rd Marine Corps Birthday Ball from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.

The 20th annual celebration will begin with cocktails (cash bar) from 5 to 5:50 p.m., followed by dinner from 6 to 7 p.m.

A cake-cutting ceremony will be held at 6:45 p.m., followed by dessert.

There also will be a silent auction, live band and dancing.

All Marines in the northern Illinois area are invited to join the McHenry County Detachment 1009 for an evening of Marine Corps tradition.

It will be held at Randall Oaks Golf Club, 4101 Binnie Road in West Dundee. Evening attire is requested.

Cost is $35 in advance or $45 at the door.

The dinner will feature grilled chicken topped with Marsala wine sauce and portabella mushrooms; center-cut sirloin topped with a wild mushroom and red wine reduction sauce, salad, rolls and butter, baked potato with sour cream, broccoli and carrots, coffee, tea and champagne toast.
