Adjusting your lifestyle can be a challenge for those who are diagnosed with the autoimmune disease myasthenia gravis. One of the symptoms of MG is that it can affect your diaphragm and make it more difficult to breathe.

On Sunday, Nov. 4, Conquer Myasthenia Gravis will host a patient seminar at the Advocate Lutheran General Hospital auditorium, Park Ridge, Illinois. Sally O'Meara, RN, will speak about "Better Breathing Through Technology" and review supportive breathing devices. Sara Hasemeyer, former professional dancer, will explain how she revised her priorities to continue living her best life possible.

The event is free (donations appreciated) and lunch is included. Registration opens at 11:30am, lunch is at noon, and speakers begin at 12:45pm. To register, visit www.myastheniagravis.org or call 800-888-6208.

Myasthenia gravis impairs communication between nerve and muscle and can cause extreme muscle weakness. Conquer MG has been providing education for over 45 years.
