Enjoy 'Feast & Folly' at Renz Center's 11th annual fundraiser Oct. 20

In celebrating 57 years of community service, Renz Addiction Counseling Center will host its 11th annual "Epicurean Delight" fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Chicago Marriott Northwest in Hoffman Estates.

In "Feast & Folly," the community is invited to attend and enjoy gourmet fare, raffles, and an hour of improv comedy featuring GreenRoom Improv, an ensemble-based theater company that specializes in improvisation. During the show, improv comedians will take audience suggestions and true-life stories and turn them into theater comedy.

An Apple iPad, Mystery Basket and Apple Watch Series 1 are featured "Epicurean Delight" raffle prizes, along with other baskets filled with restaurant gift cards, theater and movie tickets, and other entertainment venues.

Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting Renz Center's Bidding For Good online auction at biddingforgood.com/renzcenter anytime between now and Oct. 17.

Tickets to Epicurean Delight are $90 per person through Oct. 11; after, it will be $95.

It include appetizers, a gourmet dinner and an hour of improv comedy. The menu options, all gluten-free, are chicken, salmon or vegetarian.

Proceeds from this year's fundraiser benefit individuals utilizing treatment and prevention services. It's through these proceeds that Renz Center can help an individual overcome an opioid or other substance use disorder, or provide prevention programs that empower youth to develop positive decision-making skills.

Top event sponsors include Tighe, Kress & Orr PC, City of Elgin, JEP Communications, and Lauderdale Electric. Renz Center is seeking additional sponsors who wish to make a difference in our community by providing a monetary or raffle basket donation.

Renz Center provides a continuum of care dedicated to the prevention, intervention and treatment of addictive behaviors related to alcohol, drugs, and gambling. Services range from prevention programs for youth in the schools to outpatient treatment programs for adolescents and adults. Priority is given to pregnant women and women with dependent children. Offices are located in Elgin, St. Charles and Streamwood.
