Water Street Studios' Live Art Series to feature Captain Ambivalent

Water Street Studios' Live Art Series continues with "Captain Ambivalent: Happy Fun Time at the Complex" from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the gallery, 160 S. Water St. in Batavia. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the cocktail hour at 6 p.m. Performance begins at 7 p.m.

Captain Ambivalent went to sleep in 2016 and woke up in this underground complex full of secret mutants and traitors controlled by an insane computer with no idea how we got there! And now, he's been assigned to explain it all in song to you, the heroic survivors of the amnesia gas incident on Level 12. Report to your re-education pods for a sidesplitting musical history of the future, the Eighties, student debt, unintended consequences, and being replaced by a robot.

Captain Ambivalent (aka Dan Biemer, pronounced "BEE-mur") is a nerd-rock singer/songwriter/superhero, boldly battling market forces since 2005. His glacial rise from obscurity to international obscurity began at the Front Porch Music open mic in Valparaiso Indiana and has grown to include Doctor Demento, The Midnight Special, South Bend Public Television, PierogiFest, GenCon, one-man shows in Fringe Festivals and alternative theaters, and even a brief cameo on America's Got Talent. Learn more than you ever wanted to know about his musical backstory in "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Accordion."

Enjoy a cash bar featuring beverages provided by Solemn Oath Brewery and Whiskey Acres Distilling Co. They wish to thank event sponsors: Batavia Arts Council, K.Hollis Jewelers, and BEI Properties.
