Lovell FHCC to co-sponsor Community Town Hall at McHenry County College Sept. 19

The Capt. James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center invites community partners, veterans, their families and caregivers to a Community Town Hall meeting Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the Luecht Conference Center auditorium at McHenry County College, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.

The evening will begin with a free reception from 5 to 6 p.m. Veterans and members of the public then are invited to attend the regular meeting of the Veterans Assistance Commission of McHenry County from 6 to 7 p.m., which will be followed by the town hall at 7 p.m.

Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Chicago Regional Office Assistant Director Anna McBarron, Lovell FHCC acting Director Dr. Robert Buckley and McHenry County Veterans Assistance Commission Superintendent Mike Iwanicki will participate.

The town hall forum will cover the topics of VA benefits and Department of Veterans Affairs health care (provided through Lovell FHCC at the McHenry Community Based Outpatient Clinic).

An open question-and-answer session will follow opening remarks from Buckley and McBarron. The town hall affirms the commitment of Lovell FHCC to communicate transparently with the community.

The Lovell Federal Health Care Center is the nation's only fully integrated medical facility between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. It serves active duty military personnel, their families, military retirees and other veterans. The health care center, which is located in North Chicago, operates four Great Lakes Naval Station clinics and three community based outpatient clinics in McHenry and Evanston, Ill. and Kenosha, Wis.
