Join 'The Bridge's' Color Run for a Day of Family Fun

The Bridge Youth and Family Services (The Bridge), a Palatine-based nonprofit that helps young people and families achieve social and emotional health, is hosting its second annual 'Color Run' on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

"The Bridge provides extremely valuable services to youth and families throughout Palatine Township; the entire community is invited to support their efforts through participating in this event that leads up to Oktoberfest events on Saturday," said The Bridge's Executive Director Gregg Stockey.

Volunteers will enthusiastically disperse colors throughout the course, which are made of baking soda and corn starch, and are harmless and certified non-toxic. These are FDA-approved dyes that can easily be removed from clothing by washing them.

This family-friendly fundraising event takes place on the second day of the popular Rotary Oktoberfest celebration in downtown Palatine. Participants are encouraged to head over to enjoy the celebration when the Color Run is over.

If you can't make the event, area residents are encouraged to make a donation to The Bridge. The individual who raises the largest amount of funds will win a one-week stay at the Oyster Bay Resort in St. Maarten (resort dates can be arranged by contacting The Bridge).

Check-in for the Color Run begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 15 at Towne Square, 150 W. Palatine Road in downtown Palatine. The race begins at 10:30 a.m. and starts and ends just steps away from the check-in at the corner of Slade and Smith streets.

Individual admission for all ages includes a t-shirt. Adult for single adults is $40, and $10 for children ages 6-17; the entire family can participate for $75 (includes two adult t-shirts and youth t-shirts can be purchased additionally), all while benefiting a great cause!
